The restaurant business faces unpredictable daily challenges while having to adjust to the economy and survive continuous recession. Parador Rojo is located in a very high competitive area, where many Hispanic restaurants cater the Hispanic community; therefore service and quality are key to maintain Parador Rojo in business. In order to run the restaurant business more efficiently and smoother, the owner decided to implement the POS system to his business. The POS system improves and integrates the way Parado Rojo fulfills its orders. Using the system results in efficiency, profitability and  providing an better service.


Structured Process

Order Fulfillment/Procedures:

POS system allows order fulfillment in the restaurant to go much efficient and smoother. The POS system improves profitability through a faster and more accurate order processing that is easy for every employee to operate, track and manage.

Parador Rojo believes the quicker an order can be delivered, the happier a customer is going to be. (Service and great quality food is key for a successful business).



The Order Process:




1. Order Analysis: The waiter provides the service to the customer. The waiter provides food recommendation, daily specials and discounts.








2. Order Entry: Once the customer decides on the food order. The waiter submits the order in the POS system. The systems prints out two receipts one for the kitchen and the second one for the customer.








3. Order Fulfillment: Once the order is accomplished in the kitchen, the waiter presents the customer with its order. This step completes the order and the POS system creates the final bill for the customer.

 







4. Order Auditing: This step is optional, employees can view which orders are still open/ pending for payment. (Managers can track order processing)  

 






 



Data: Parador Rojo saves data for important information. It keeps track of all employees general information.

  • Their POS system uses an access database for the POS utility, which tracks sales and inventory data. 

  • Also has an SQL (Structured Query Language) for the credit card processing utility. 


Hardware:
 



 

 

 



   Parador Rojo uses a POS System.
  • Its computer is an Intel Touch PC | POS-X with MSR.
  • They use a POS-X Premium Thermal Receipt  Printer. 
  • They use a POS-X Cash register.
The waiter enters an order by signing in with their MSR cards. Once the order is placed two receipts are printed out, one for the customer and another one for the kitchen.

Software:



 













      They use a system called Aldelo Lite License.
      It allows the restaurant to create, modify and settle orders.
      Features visual map integration, Caller ID and payment processing integration. 

 


People:

The employees are the most important people in the business. They accommodate for every process and action of the restaurant. The staff is made up of 12 employees starting from manager to chefs and waitresses. They become one of the most important part of the business strategy. Without these employees the restaurant will not be able to succeed. Parador Rojo's staff understands its studies and responsibilities for everyday tasks.
