Parador Rojo has many great attributes, but with many businesses, come the probability of arising issues and challenges that can be fixed after careful analyzing. The family-owned restaurant industry is a difficult market to get into and stay successful, especially when you are in a community with many substitute products to choose between. Some of Parador Rojo’s biggest problems we identified were staffing and its language barrier. Parador Rojo also has other objectives in order to maximize revenue that they are struggling to achieve.

Parador Rojo’s staffing issue lies in its ability to find qualified staff that are trustworthy and are willing to serve Parador Rojo’s customers with the respect and standards the owner originally had in mind. Staffing is a large issue in the restaurant industry due to the high turnover ratio. The staff that currently works at Parador Rojo originally came in without training and with little motivation to work hard. For Parador Rojo to have the highest quality of employees, they should recruit for new positions through online job postings like Monster and CareerBuilder in order to get the highest caliber of employees. Parador Rojo should also train their employees that make it through the hiring screening process to use the hardware in the restaurant correctly and to its fullest potential to maximize efficiency. The supervisor should also train its employees in proper serving etiquette that the owner wants to deliver to every customer.

Parador Rojo’s other major problem is its lack of language diversity in its menu. They are limited to one language, which happens to be the second most popular language in their city. By not offering their menu in English or any other languages, they are limiting themselves to a smaller clientele. When Parador Rojo translates their menu to English and offers a wider range of English speaking staff, they will be able to open up to a larger market, which will lead to increased revenue for their business. Parador Rojo will only have to have a bilingual translator translate their menu to English and then print a revised menu that has both English and Spanish or provide a separate menu that has all their menu items in English. Having the English names of the menu items is only part of serving the English speaking clientele. Parador Rojo has to ensure their staff can also understand the requests of any customers that come into the restaurant requesting items off the menu. Having the cashiers and waiters able to speak and read English will ensure that they can translate the orders of the customers to the chefs in the kitchen.

In order to maximize presence in the surrounding community, Parador Rojo has to ensure that they are advertising in the most efficient ways for the community to ensure they are aware of the restaurant. Parador Rojo has a small form of representation on the internet through most of the major social media outlets that are available for restaurants. What they lack is their responsiveness and the details that need to go into the websites to bring them to the forefront. The Parador Rojo Facebook page is only available to be liked but no details are available on the restaurant itself. In order to increase their presence through Facebook Parador Rojo has to create an actual page for them, add a description of the restaurant, and leave pictures for potential consumers to like and share. If Parador Rojo wanted to have special promotions available they should also create a Twitter and announce when specific bakery items have become available and to update the public on the happenings of the restaurant as quickly and accurately as possible.
